Two (2) Possible Scenarios Will Occur:
Scenario 1
SLM/Sallie Mae says your loan is approved. The lender will disburse all loan proceeds to you (the student), then it is the student's responsibility to pay their tuition and fees to the University on time. Indiana Dabney University is not the lender or a third party. Print a copy of the approval and submit it to IDU within 48 hours.
Scenario 2
If Sallie Mae says your loan is declined. Then the prospective student can reapply within 20 days with a co-borrower. The prospective student can reapply up to 3 times.
Note: If you apply for a loan without a cosigner and your loan is not approved, you can reapply with a cosigner. If you application is not approved with the cosigner you select, you can reapply with a different cosigner. You may apply up to three times.
It is the student's responsibility to pay their tuition and fees. SLM loan prospective students have 3 days from the disbursement dates to pay their program cost (prospective students should confirm their tuition dates with the campus). After 3 days, a late fee of $49 is added to their account. After the 5th day the student is removed from their program. The student would have to reapply to the school and acceptance is not guaranteed.
