INFORMATION for students starting after January 1, 2009:
- Each Course is 6-weeks in length. Total Courses 28 + 6 Labs.
- Total Standard Student Clinical Hours 480 (Students must have a minimum of 420 clinical hours to graduate) and complete 40 hours of community service approved by the University.
- Non-standard students are registered LPNs with a valid license (A total of 420 clinical hours required for non-standard students).
- Average time to completion: 15 months
- Students must receive a “C” or better in each course to receive credit for the course. The nursing program does not offer grades of “D”. Students who receive more than 2-C’s in their academic program or a grade of “F” will be placed on academic probation. If a student receives a grade of “F” or a 3rd “C” the student has to retake the course at their expense and pass the course with a “B” or better in order for it to count toward their degree requirements. Note: For student’s starting after June 2011 no grade below a “B” in any nursing course will count towards a student’s degree requirements. The student will have to retake the course if approved by the Dean or Registrar and will be responsible to pay the tuition for the retake course(s). (Students can be dropped from the program if a grade less than a “B” is earned at anytime.)
Note: The University reserves the right to expel any student who fails a course or clinical.
- In order to successfully complete the class, students must pass the Nursing Capstone Final Examination (NUR 210 A&B) with a minimum of 80%. Students cannot graduate without passing this examination. However, the class can be retaken only once for a cost of 50% of the original course tuition, then regular cost apply.
- Nursing students must maintain a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of a 3.0 on a 4 -point scale to remain in the program.
- A student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4 - point scale to graduate from the program.
- Students must have successfully attended the University’s Annual Conference and Workshop.
- All students are required to take the pre-entrance examination(s) and complete an entrance interview with the Admissions Department.

(Applications are only valid for 6 – months from the date it was received.)
All applicants must schedule to take the Pre-Entrance Exam (only for nursing program applicants). The cost is included in the application fee (only valid for 6 – months from the date it was received). However, if applicant fails to attend their scheduled date and/or time, there is no additional cost if rescheduled within 24 hours otherwise there is a $49 cost to reschedule the examination.

Occupational and Skills training to prepare an entry-level nursing graduate to take their State Boards (NCLEX)
As a result of successful completion of the Nursing Program, graduates will:
- Contribute to the advancement of healthcare by utilizing inquiry methodology and incorporating relevant research findings while pursuing the practice of nursing with culturally diverse individuals, groups, communities, and populations.
- Exhibit critical thinking in nursing practice by synthesizing theoretical and empirical knowledge from the disciplines of nursing, the biological and behavioral sciences, and the humanities.
- Utilize appropriate communication technique while engaged in professional nursing practice.
- Demonstrate competence in nursing practice by promoting health, preventing disease, and treating illness using research data and advanced technological tools.
- Demonstrate leadership skills by accepting responsibility and accountability for professional and
personal actions and decisions.
- Demonstrate caring, understanding, legal, ethical, and professional behaviors in the role of a practicing nurse.
- Synthesize knowledge gained from the program to successfully pass the National Council of Licensure Examination.
- Access and analyze health status by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the health potential of individuals, families, groups, and populations.
- Manage material and human resources as a means of refining, retaining and extending the science of nursing.
This program is to provide individuals with the opportunity to seek educational and ethical training in an accelerated nursing program. It will also provide an excellent training environment that fosters a student’s ability to excel in their Nursing Career of Community Service.
The institution’s focus is on providing the community with ethical and highly trained licensed nurses to serve in the field of health care and humanity. The institution will train the nurses to serve through spirit, thought, practice and compassion for all they service and console.
